Down for the Count have a great variety of shows coming up in September and October - from concert halls, to theatre shows, to open air concerts and more! Here's a quick overview of what we have coming up - check out our live dates page for ticket links and more dates.
Sun 8 Sep: Brighton Open Air Theatre
To kick off September, our 10-piece All-Stars band will be taking the stage at Brighton Open Air Theatre for the fourth year in a row - it's always a highlight of our calendar.
Get ready to journey back in time with us in the great outdoors, as we perform our well-loved A Century of Swing show. Featuring top-class musicians, sublime vocalists, and a fascinating insight into the rich history of the swing era, all in the unique outdoor setting of Brighton Open Air Theatre.

Thu 12 Sep: Swing That Music in Banbury
Our All-Stars will also be heading to Banbury this September with our Swing That Music show. This was the very first venue that we performed at in public after the COVID restrictions were lifted in 2021, so it holds a special place in our hearts!
Expect to hear instrumental songs from the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller, vocal classics from singers such as Nat ‘King’ Cole, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, and original arrangements of jazz standards penned by musicians in the band.
We will be bringing Swing That Music to even more venues in 2025 - watch this space for more information!
Sun 29 Sep: Pizza Express Sunday Jazz Lunch and Dinner
We’re back at the superb Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho, London this September. We will be performing a lunchtime show and an evening show with our 10-piece All-Stars band at this atmospheric club; if you love great pizza, fantastic wine, and exceptional live music, this is the perfect event for your autumn calendar! You can choose between lunchtime and evening shows (or we suppose you could come along to both if you really wanted to!).
Fri 11 Oct & Sun 13 Oct: Songs from the Golden Age of Swing
Off the back of our acclaimed spring tour, Songs from the Golden Age of Swing, our 30-piece Orchestra are taking the show to two more venues in the Autumn.
We'll be at Albert Hall in Nottingham on Fri 11 Oct, and Olivier Hall in Oxford on Sun 13 Oct. We're thrilled to be reviving this show two more nights this autumn, especially as these two venues were highlights of our 2023 Christmas tour.
As the weather gets chillier and the nights grow longer, it's the perfect time to warm up with some live music. Come and join us!
Down for the Count Orchestra at Albert Hall, Nottingham
Sat 12 Oct: Cadogan Hall
We have just 3 public shows with our 30-piece Orchestra before our Christmas tour starts in November. We're back at Cadogan Hall in London October for the second of our 3-part 2024 concert series at this prestigious venue. The self-titled standalone show will showcase our spectacular 30-piece Orchestra in its full glory, performing some songs that are brand new to our repertoire, as well as the old favourites we all know and love. This is a night we are all very excited about.
The final concert in the 2024 Cadogan Hall series is on Thu 28 Dec, which will be the finale of our Swing Into Christmas tour. If you’d like to come along to both our autumn and Christmas concerts at Cadogan Hall, you can get 10% off of your tickets if you book them together!

A Century of Swing: the final leg
October will also see the final leg of our A Century of Swing tour. We started this tour back in 2022, and have had a fantastic time bringing the joy of live music to various venues across England, Scotland, and Wales. By the time the tour has finished, we will have performed this show 74 shows and we've loved every single one!
To conclude the A Century of Swing tour we'll be at concert halls and theatres in Huddersfield, Birmingham, Liverpool, Worcester, Bristol and Leicester - check out the dates and buy tickets here.
Wed 23 Oct: Music of Motown
We are at Pizza Express Motown on Wed 23 Oct with our Music of Motown show. If you love the music of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, and many more, then this is the night for you.
Tickets are very limited, so be sure to book now in case you miss out!
After October…
After October we'll be taking a few days off, then it will be time for the Swing Into Christmas tour featuring our 30-piece Orchestra. The tour kicks off on Sun 17 Nov, and we will be performing across England, Scotland, and Wales up until Thu 28 Dec.
