Musical entertainment for micro weddings
From Monday 17th May 2021 the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions will be further eased, and micro weddings (for up to 30 guests) are allowed.
Booking a small music group is a fantastic way of making a micro wedding memorable and Down for the Count's entertainers are sure to delight your guests.
All of the bands we offer here are able to perform either indoors or outdoors, and most of the musicians in Down for the Count also teach music and therefore are regularly tested for COVID-19.

Entertainment ideas for micro weddings
Acoustic entertainment options and walkabout acts
One of the most popular acts for micro weddings is our walkabout acoustic act The Vintage Strollers. This fun female-led acoustic trio performs lively and uplifting swing, pop and soul music. Whilst it's not usually intended as a "party band" in quite the same way as our larger ensembles, it's a great choice for micro weddings - the band is quieter than many louder bands and therefore is just right for a party of up to 30 guests.

All of the above acts are fun and lively, whereas Down for the Count Strings is a more subtle, sophisticated act. But it's certainly not boring - their repertoire of classical and pop music is sure to surprise and entertain you.

Down for the Count offer a great selection of small jazz bands who provide smart and sophisticated live music for micro weddings. Our 4-piece, vocal led jazz band Hollywood Jazz Band adds a touch of glamour to the occasion; whilst the Lady Gatsby Jazz Band is slightly more raucous and better for dancing to.

Mike Paul-Smith is the musical director of Down for the Count. He formed the band in 2005 and since then has directed them for performances at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Cadogan Hall London, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The London Jazz Festival, Twinwood Festival, and at countless other theatre and jazz club shows.
